Minimize Firefox to system tray
Filed Under Firefox, browser | 3 Comments
If your workplace is one of those rare ones where Firefox is installed, you’re certainly going to need this little extension called MinimizeToTray.
All it does is let you minimize Firefox to an icon in your system tray when your pointy haired boss is nearby, so that he doesn’t know that you’re in the middle of typing a comment in a lolcat forum. He’s gone? Right click on the tray icon and select Restore Window or double-click the icon.
With MinimizeToTray you can also:
1. Minimize Firefox to the system tray by using the short cut Ctrl+Shift+M.
2. Always minimize Firefox to the system tray instead of the taskbar.
3. Always minimize Firefox instead of closing it.
See the screenshots below to get the idea:

As someone who uses Firefox heavily, you may occasionally come across strange websites that don’t work that well on Firefox. The blokes who designed them were either too embroiled in Micorosoft technology to be aware of FF, or simply wanted to contribute their little something to the Big Brother’s attempts to world domination.
Whatever is the case, IE Tab helps. IE Tab is a cool extension that lets you view those sites inside your favourite Web browser. When you want to view a webpage in IE, just click the IE Tab button in Firefox’ status bar to load the page in IE in a tab.

IE Tab also has additional options like automatically opening certain sites in IE tabs, open webpages in IE outside of Firefox, open IE in a new tab, etc.
